STARTING POINT

In ENSAMBLE, we believe that isolation and loneliness are a political problem, which disempowers people and strengthens an unjust state. The way we fight these problems is by building community. In order to change those things that hurt people, we generate leaderships.

We work with people to transform them in leaders and organizers of their own communities; they take most of the concerns on board, and together, they work to transform habits, practices, values and priorities.

We started in 2017 with small projects in Oaxaca, Xochimilco and Jojutla, and today we work with in our pilot project Los 500 X La Paz, in Los Reyes, La Paz.

OUR PILOT PROJECT

In October 2017, we started a movement in Los Reyes, La Paz, a marginalized neighborhood - two hours from Mexico City - with high rates of crime and violence.

Today, Los 500 X La Paz is a group conformed by more than 250 people of all ages who are organized, empowered, and who share the following purpose: to make their community safer.

MISION

To transform isolated and lonely individuals into organized, purposeful and hopeful communities.

VISION

To activate leaderships in Mexico, understanding leadership as he responsibility of enabling others to achieve common purposes.

OUR PILOT PROJECT: Los 500 X La Paz

Carlos Quintero Herrera Lasso, Director and Founder of ENSAMBLE briefly explains our project Los 500 X La Paz.

Ensamble Manifesto

We are more than a political alternative, we are alternative politics: an ensemble of people who take charge of changing their own lives so that, together, we transform our country.

We focus on what is near and possible. Great national transformations start with small changes that directly impact people’s lives.

We build community to take charge of what is public, from our block to our country. We choose the present over an imaginary future and every Mexican over “Mexico” as an abstract concept.

We believe in each person’s capacity to transform their own life, and in organizing with others to build our own fate.

We change when we act and we act when we change. There isn’t one without the other.

This is the moment.
